The problem David had with his was he was using filament bulbs originally, the extra bulb in the back window (or the spoiler depending on your point of view) was causing havoc with the bulb failure unit.

Changing the original 21W bulbs for some proper, red, 21W out put equivalent LED bulbs and adding ballast resistors to correct the current flow got it all working again.

Depending how much current the LED brake light in your spoiler takes you may get away without doing anything or you may have to measure the current and then i'll help you sort out which bulb you need for the back widow and a ballast resistor to put the bulb failure light out.

Was the problem only because there was a fault with the LED's in your spoiler or am I likely to encounter the same problems?
Do you have any tips/ advice?
Don't let this thread put you off, my problems were mainly down to my ignorance of car electrickery, and was caused because I wanted to keep the rear window brake light and also have the one in the spoiler working, but once Dave (Laird Scooby) explained which led bulbs and resisters to get it turned out to be relatively simple to do (even for me), both brake lights now work fine, get in touch with Classic Led's or talk to the Laird, I think you will find them both to be very helpful, So again don't be put off !
