Question dpf regen and satnav

Yesterday proudly driving into the city in my hybrid, turning off energy save, realised the battery is still charging and the engine won't turn off.

Car had decided to regen the dpf just before leaving the motorway!

I wasn't using the satnav...however it got me wondering, does the satnav talk to the car to say hay, i got 100 miles of motorway now shall i burn off the soot?

Guessing it doesn't, no idea how to find out, just wondered if anyone has an idea on it?

The engine management system records the conditions of engine operation and records the amount of soot generated for the current operating conditions.

Engine temperature and ambient temperature, engine load conditions and engine speed all affect the quantities of soot generated.

Once the calculated soot amount reaches a certain level, DPF Regen is initiated.

The engine management system does not know what your journey is or will be, and thus this is not taken into account when initiating DPF Regen.
Reason: any journey can change, and any owner can avoid motorways for months on end. So motorways and long journeys, whilst ideal for DPF Regen, can not be predicted to occur and thus DPF Regen must also be possible without a motorway run.

I know normally it wouldn't know, but if you were using the satnav it would be great if say your on a section of motorway that has no exit for 50 miles satnav pinged the ecu to kick off a regen if the filter is over a certain % full, still work as normal, but have certain ideal conditions that could set it off to minimizes city regen if at all possible
