One tip I learnt from a dealership mechanic about the headlights. Leave the headlight switch in the 'on' position as it supplies a more constand voltage to the headlights wheras the '0' position has a fluctuating volatage (at the bulb), leaving them at the on position will mean your 50quid bulbs will last a but longer. If the lights are still at their standard alignment you should read up on how to raise them marginally as they do sit a bit 'low'

I have purchased from this site before, great service and a good selection of bulbs!

Do the bi-xenons function as DRL's too? My DRL lights have been turned off somehow. Would I still be better off leaving them on all the time?

I am not sure if factory bi-xenons works the same way as for DRL or not, actually interested to hear from other users about it. Up to my knowledge, the nature of xenon light make it impossible to be used with reduced PWM so I would think o position 0 and position 2 the light output and PWM cycle should be exactly the same. Feel free to correct me on that.
Halogen-equpped cars have reduced PWM on position 0 (DRL by Volvo) and hence creating issues with HID retrofitting.

Are you saying that you have factory bi-xenons and in position 0 your lights are off?

Even with DRLs off / Switch in pos 2 it is still an issue, just less agressive PWM according to https://www.skbowe.com/a/2017/05/26/...hid-retrofits/

I think theshadow27 can tell us more about it, but I have suspicion that OEM-xenon cars may work differently. I am 100% sure the light management software for xenons is different than halogen one, but not sure what differences are. I wonder if PWM in OEM xenons is still present at all? And if so - is that the same as in H version...

Logically there will be no PWM on factory xenon cars as it doesn't make any sense for there to be given how they work.

Exactly my thoughts. Hence I wonder, if those cars have DRLs at all and assuming yes (knowing Volvo), I suspect position 0 and 2 to have exactly the same output except the option to put long beams maybe...

That is correct, the lights are off completely when in position 0.

Another thing I noticed is that there are no side-marker type orange lights. My last C30 which had halogen lights also had little corner lights in the orange bit near the edge of the lens but this one doesnt.

can u maybe post a photo of your lights? not very familiar with factory bixenons but to my knowledge sidemarkers were present on all versions.... Have you physically checked if there is a bulb holder for it inside?
