Just turned 49 - how did that happen? - currently have a 2002 V70 D5 which is my 5th Volvo, others have been 480ES, 480turbo x2, S60 bi-fuel - not all consecutively though.

The V70 will be stopping for a while longer as don't do much mileage and it's great for dumping the kids stuff in - haha, left that late didn't I!

At 59 and three quarters I have just purchased a D5 V90CC. (I was smitten)
Prior to that a lovely XC60 D5 R design which I thought I'd keep for ever. Prior to that a V50 2.0D. I bought an 1800es at about 32 and before that at some stage had a ropey 900 series v6 estate (965 ?)
I am on a bit of a road trip to Scotland from Hampshire in the new V90 and hope to have worked out how it all works by the time I get back :-)

Bought my 2009 C70 T5 almost a year ago now on my 55th birthday. My wife calls it my mid-life crisis, a bit unfair since it was actually my teenage daughter who picked out the car when we had gone to the dealers to try an Altima Coupe for size.

28, had my 945 HPT estate at least 6 years now. My family has always loved Volvos, many happy memories of being on holiday with the various Volvos towing the caravan.

When my Mum and Dad wanted to get a cheaper to run car they were talking about scrapping the Volvo so I took it off their hands. Love the RWD Volvos, you can't beat a 7/900 for boot space (except with a van or a hearse). It's been used many a time as a tow vehicle, recovery vehicle (my brother loves his old VWs) and used for carting around all sorts (furniture, people, scrap, building supplies etc).

I'm 66 and now on my 6th Volvo - the first of which ( a 1976 244 GL auto ) I bought sometime in 1982 when I was about 31, so Volvo for more than 1/2 of my life to date - I ran it for 13 yrs.

That 244GL was bought primarily for its towing ability.

Current car is a 1999 V70 XLT 2.5 Litre diesel automatic on just short of 210,000 miles which I bought 2011/12 - still bought for towing capability and I have full confidence in it.

I shall be a little non-specific and just admit to being in my early 70's.

When I knew retirement was on the horizon after a long period of driving company cars, I vowed that I would get a Volvo - and I was fairly specific (in my mind) that it would be a dark blue (or maybe olive green) V70 Classic.

SWMBO didn't go for that idea. Eventually she said she might put up with a silver one. Well, it's just personal, I'm not a particular lover of silver cars; I like a dark-coloured car as it always shows off a good polish.

Anyway, retirement came. And on the car front, my choice could come to fore as SWMBO and I were no longer 'together'. And I very quickly found a dark blue V70 Classic Auto. OK, it was the 'poverty spec' model; but I lavished the care (and money) on it that it deserved. I loved that car.

A couple of years ago, I changed by selling the V70 and buying a C70 GT (auto again) convertible. Guess what! It's dark blue! A lovely car; but more prone to problems thanks to 'the roof'. And. TBH, it's nice when the roof is down (and the draught excluder up!); but, being England, there's not that many days that one can do that!

Maybe, next year, I will contemplate looking for another really nice V70 Classic (auto again) and needless to say dark blue or olive green

And. life is a lot easier, as I get older, in that I have a darned good Volvo 'indy' just up the road who does all the 'oily things' that need doing. My days of greasy hands an skinned knuckles are behind me now.
