2005 s60 d5 185hp egr question.
Has anyone with the euro 4 d5 deleted their egr valve? I don't fully understand how it actually works and what i would have to take off and replace etc. Which pipes/hoses have to be removed? Im not to bothered about messages coming up on my screen ive already got them. Any input would be great. Cheers

What messages do you have? Deleting the egr is likely to give you additional problems, such as the ECU misfuelling.

You'll need to interrogate the ECM to delete the EGR so not a job for diy.
It's a LOT easier and cheaper to get your running right with basic maintenance and EGR deletion is unnecessary.

It seems very complicated to remove the EGR valve and cooler in an D5 185 cv, as I easily did in my '02 V70 D5 163 cv.
In my '06 XC90 I just couldn't reach to the bolts to insert a blocking plate, so -to minimize the soot and oil vapor mix, which causes the sludge buildup- I put an oil catch, which also helps in keeping the intercooler clean. |
