As in merely replacing the existing bulbs with LED lamps or adding the small row of LEDs at the bottom of the newer style tail light fixtures?

Stuff is complicated, you say? Let me write that down.

So which is it, merely swapping bulbs? Better to ask which brands people who had no problems bought. Lots of bulbs from "white boxes" out there. Difficult to nail down a brand name sometimes.

I've heard some of the earlier ones put out more heat than you'd expect.
Some caused "bulb out" messages.

As far as my car toy adventurousness goes, I may spring for LED backup lights someday.

I really , really dont need to spend 3 min of my life with that kind of answer. my question was simple....if you want to elaborate....fine. If you dont have a straight answer ....honestly i dont need that kind of answer.
If it was you asking me that, i would try to help you the best i can not be ironic about it. Maybe its me....i dont know everything....maybe for you there, is a standard question where you use your brain to answer it. If my question wasn't good enough for you, or if it didn't make any sense ..I AM SORRY.

I searched about it, and there are many people trying that, but having problems with CanBUs......i know you, know what that is...thats why you answer to your forums wile you cut the grass (your own words) its not the best option.
Maybe after you cut the grass you will find some other way of answering, in a more CONSTRUCTIVE way

But ...Many Thanks for your answer.
Thank You

No sure if there is a complete LED tail lamp replacement, but for bulbs I've used this guy for most:

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/HPCREELEDBU...p2047675.l2563

Not on the volvo yet, but on both of the old Mercs. No issues with error messages.

There are multiple tail lights: position markers (AKA side lights), brakes, reversing, indicator, fog & number plate lights.
