Window tints?
Going to fetch myself a 740 tommorrow a red estate 2.3 (230k carb'd) lump.
Want to tidy it up, service it and put a new water n oil pump etc in it to keep it going on (apparently stodgy oil often kills the oil pumps in the 230k?). Anyway once thats sorted and I have got the new headlining in, I want to tidy it up a bit more. Thinking of getting it wagged (rubbing compound on a drum polisher and cut a load of paint off, lets me patch up rust bubbles too), to bring the red really bring it up! But I also want to tint the windows, initially the rear's and then maybe a lighter tint for the fronts? I want the rears to be near black so people can't see in (more security then anything else as I will be using it a lot for well moving stuff that might be of interest to scotes etc). Next move would be to get a car trailer. I mean a 'CAR' trailer!!! LOL in our local breakers yard there is another near identical 740GLE estate in red, but engine is blown and most of interior has gone. Since the yard can't sell the whole car I want to make a trailer out of it. Well strip it, tint it out, cut the front end off (from bulkhead) and fabricate some form of A bar to put a toe hitch to. I have seen a german passat done like this, both identical and whilst the passat was a bit garish I like this idea a lot. Reckon its possible and not for too much money? |
