So I am sure other people have had the same problem - the viscous coupling rotates - so do I jam the viscous coupling with a screw driver ? Do not want to damage it....

The trick is to use a chain wrench - tighten carefully and use the spanner.
Luckily the nut on the viscous coupling came of easy. However I think I will be refitting one the cooling fans from a B20 engine instead..... Replacement viscous coupling are expensive items and in Malta the temperature is usually hot - so constant airflow can only improve things.
