Default Heater control valve/matrix hoses substitute

Just a brief note for those on the west side of the Atlantic - I swapped my heater valve recently and found that it was time to replace the hoses between the block, valve and heater core. Not wanting to wait for a package, I went to my local NAPA store and came home with a couple of hoses that might work. Sure enough, this hose cut into three pieces does the job to replace the set.

Just an FYI if you find yourself in a pinch.

I thought the Flikr pic was going to be of your new hoses. That would have been interesting.

Looks good. I've done this trick by looking in boxes of random small bore hoses at autojumbles with some success. Boxes were its pick anywhere for £1-£2 are good. The U shaped hose is hard to find. Best to have a pukka hose in your bag for comparison.
