240 Estate wanted

We're doing the scally rally this year (arctic circle run) and are looking for a cheap 240 Estate/Saloon (£150 max) to do it in. In the spirit of the scally rally, we need someting old and tatty, so dents, rust etc, bad paint, high miles, tatty interior are all a bonus, but it must have a MOT until the end of August 09 and be mechanically sound.

This event is for charity - last time we did it in a Rover Maestro - (a truly horrible car) and raised over £2000

So-- if you have an old car that you want to part with, please let me know. It's a more dignified end than the scrapyard/crusher/banger racing as your old car can do some good before its demise!

hi, what charity is it for? I have a 240 GLE that has always been a lovely runner and v reliable but we have bought a new vehicle and after 18 years loyal service she is sitting in the garage. MOT ran out last October but only did not renew as not using the car and have been trying to find a good home. Any interest? 4swift4

Have a Saab 900i with plenty of test on it, not sure when it runs out, but think it is September 2009. Can supply pics if you want.

Am scrapping 240 estate this weekend because of rust, but engine has only done 60K. MOT expires Aug 30th.

Would cost over £250 to extend through new MOT

And I'm not a million miles from Norwich — can you get down here by Saturday and drive it back?
