  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Help wife's xc90 heater blower has stopped working, how to fix, cost.

its located in the passenger footwell up behind the cover underneath the dashboard. You are meant to remove the dashboard to remove unit but it can be removed by taking out the carpet in that footwell and jiggling it a bit.You could then bench test the unit by apply a feed and gnd to it if you feel confident to do so. Check fuses first incase its that. don't know bout costs and that though.

It is probably the motor wiring plug overheated , this heat then gets into the speed controller and burns it out so you might need a new connector block and terminals and speed controller which is the finned component in the base of the motor .

thanks for the two replies i got very helpful, will have a look today to see if i can see any think wrong with the wiring /connections.

Hi again thanks for your info on this it gave me the courage to have a look at the blower motor from the base of the foot well [passenger side] at least.
It must of bin a loose connection because all is well now it works fine
