£54 to tell me what sensor
Just had my 850 T5 into an auto electric's to read diagnostc fault codes before it goes for it's MOT beginning August.
I wanted to know if it needed a unit or it had a fault on one of the sensor's Came back a fault on left front sensor..... easy fix for my garage. Just as well as they charged me £54 to tell me what sensor it was Alot of money for half an hours work And the sensor still has to be fixed.!!!!

are you not able to access the blink codes or does yours use obd.I'm interested to know how they accessed the codes. When my abs/tracs played up i got a blink code out and it happened to be accurate, the pedal pos sensor in the servo.. you have a code for a wheel sensor so instead of just replacing it i'd check its resistance with multimeter and compare it to the 3 good ones,if its the same then look at the wiring for chafing/corrosion and the toothed ring for cracks.

Could be something as simple as a wiring fault. Also, if it's the same as the V70 it's quite easy to slip the rear drum off and just make sure that the sensor ring is all intact and not damaged or very dirty. Cheers Jack PS: Why is something at the back of my mind saying that rear sensors come in pairs? Not sure! |

It was easier to take to auto electric's to get checked they had the equipment and where able to tell me which sensor it was So it's just a wire or something simple to repair not a whole unit needed So all and all at least my garage knows what sensor it is and they will repair it

Be careful. A wheel sensor fault could actually also mean the ABS ECU is duff.

Should have had a look here,
http://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=280351 I'm sure it would have been cheaper to go and see mrfixer at livingstone. I suppose that the map could do with updating though as there is probably alot more that can beadded to it. Jason
