Dont forget this is the second ac related recall.

Yeoman - I wonder if Stoneacre have got confused and think you are referring to the first recall. Did you have the recall work done for the first one?

I could ring my dealer on Monday but not keen to rush it as it is at 16k miles now and must be due a service soon enough so might as well hang on and get it all done together.

Dont often use the aircon anyway......

Look forward to the squeaking when that lot gets pulled out and put back together again......

It's a good idea to leave the aircon on all the time or use it for about 30 mins continuously at least once a week.
  • Modern aircon systems are very efficient and have little or no impact on performance or mpg.
  • The refrigerant in the system contains lubricants which are used to keep the components functioning correctly. The lubricant needs to be pumped round the system to be effective.
  • There are many joints and seals in a car's aircon system and these mustn't dry out. The lubricant prevents this. If they do dry out the car will lose refrigerant gas and the aircon will be less effective and/or need topping up.
  • Irregular use of the aircon allows mould and fungi to develop in the system which can cause odours (and health issues in extreme cases).
  • Running it all the time helps keep the moisture content down in the interior fabrics leading to less misting of the windows and a more comfortable environment.

I leave my A/C on auto 24/7.

My car is due for its QIA on Tuesday. Rang the dealers this morning and spoke to the service manager, he is aware of the recall - notified yesteady. Confirmed my car will be checked and then we go from there.

Was it Inverness?
Was speaking to them this afternoon, regarding possible delays and the salesman is going to check on Monday.
Thanks.

Well I have a rattle above the driver display so it can all be done at the same time.

With the QIA at 3 months and maybe the tendency to wait for issues to be resolved until then, does this have any impact on the new laws protecting buyers.
