TDI dual mass, where can you get one
So Volvo and any parts factor that can get LUK are fresh out of luck.
Apparently there was a Sachs version too but again no one seems to be able to get one. Car unfortunately doomed without one! The popular european online parts factor show as having a few in stock but then when you order it you get an email saying they don't actually have any and are on back order from LUK = none available. |

I wonder is it a shipping (Brexit) issue that won't allow you complete the order? VParts in Sweden won't ship to Ireland even though we are in the EU.

Cheers.
All those part sites are quoting stock from their own higher up supplier as having '2 in stock' but actually there is zero. Trying again with another company but looks to be properly obsolete, fitting a used DMF is like roulette only a lot more labour only to find its also buggered! |

If a DMF can't be found is there a solid flywheel conversion available for it? I know there is for some models.Or as a last resort could your present DMF not be welded up as I know some Transit owners used to have done? I realise both these options[if available]might make the car a little rougher but better than losing it altogether?

I have read of D5 owners fitting a SMF only to discover severe cluch/engine shudder therefore reverting back to a DMF. Also, the D5252T is not as refined as the Volvo diesel engine so I can only imagine the shudder it would produce
I wonder could you have the existing DMF refurbished? For example: https://www.autonorma.co.uk/content/...ture-flywheels

Im pretty sure the Autobox variant runs a Sold flywheel.
I’ve converted Auto’s to Manuals and left the original flywheel with no Ill effects. Alternatively a used one.I’ve got one here still in daily usage with original flywheel (manual box) which dates from 98 and 376k miles on it .. Personally Id just weld her up and not give a monkey’s.

Got it.
Yeah that big parts group was fed into LUK uks back end and constantly showed as 2 in stock from everyone, however no one could successfully order one. Got one via the above on ebay, means you get an extra ten % off thanks to ebay fee voucher thing. So a dmf was only £385. Clutch and new slave and bolts etc. So yeah now need a lift, a quick jack and 2 days of swearing to fit it. Now would be a good time to rebuild steering rack aswell. |

Scaeffer group/LUK UK will only have 1 left on the shelf now and a possibility its bad out of the box (some DMF have too much angular movement from new, rare but happens if they get dropped by couriers).
So every possibility its the last D5252t engined Volvo to ever find a new DMF, good for me, sad for future survival of these cars. There are good used ones, mostly available on the continent but have to take your chance of it not gone bad vs amount of labour to change. |
