Mark wahlbergs characters wife in The Perfect Storm drives a 240 you see her pull up outside their new flat in it, he obviously never gets to see the flat .

Just been to see "Thor - The Dark World" aka Thor II (excellent by the way). I don't want to spoil the ending but let's just say a certain red 240SE features prominently, but is mindlessly vandalised. I don't know who's worse, those banger boys or these Hollywood movie directors LOL.

One of STV's Rebus episodes had a very late 240 estate with Virgos on it marked up as a Lothian and Borders Constabulary armed response vehicle. Only problem is that by that time Strathclyde were running 850T5 estates but L&B didn't have any Volvos whatsoever.
