My windows are 80% smoke tinted not Limo Black, Limo Black is way too dark. I had the rear five windows done so It looks as would from the factory. The tints do offer a great deal of privacy especially in the load area of a V50 as this is not very deep so the cover is vertually useless.

I think i am right in saying that the sharks fin on the roof is for a GPS antenna if you have the built in RTI Sat Nav. Other than that it is purely cosmetic as the radio areial is in the rear drivers side window.

Really?
Had mine done from new, 80% smoke on the rear 5, by a professional tinting company. Great job, looks really good.
After about 6 months I took the car back into Volvo for some warranty issues including poor radio reception. When I picked the car up and went through my list with the receptionist I noticed that the diagnosis on the radio fault was "customer has fitted tints to rear windows which affect reception"!!! I was more than a bit gobsmacked by this and asked to have it explained by the service manager who, in the end, couldn't explain it!! Since then I've given up complaining about it, the warranty ran out long ago and I got sick of their attempts to cure the fault including dropping the headlining and leaving me with an annoying A pillar rattle. Since found that plugging in any aux 12v equipment affects it very badly, as does using the Dolby Prologic Surround in FM mode. Hey ho. But tints - yes go for it!! |
