Default XC90 Sunroof curtain noise (with Video)

My car has been in Volvo (Leatherhead) for 2 weeks to get an irritating curtain noise fixed that appears when it is opened. For the privilege of getting it fixed I was charged for a courtesy car at £12 per day and when my car was returned it was actually worse than when I took it in!

Needless to say I'm less than happy. I'd be grateful if any other XC90 drivers can let me know if this is a common fault (do you have this noise). I'd also be grateful if anyone know how I can direct a complaint to Volvo. After 14 days you would have thought the garage would have fixed this especially when I've been advised that the assembley has been replaced.

Thanks..

Pretty annoying though on a £60K car...

I wish that the glass roof was a unique feature that could be easily opted out of in the model specification process. The window adds weight to the vehicle and is not appropriate to use on the highway.

The sunroof curtain in MY19 XC60 does similar noise as in the YouTube videos but does it only on hot days. That makes me think it might be due to the expansion of parts within the sliding mechanism. Will get it looked into during my next visit to the dealer.

The glass roof can be opted out of - it's an optional extra that is either specced by itself or by ordering the Xenium pack; if you order the relevant constituent components of the Xenium pack without actually ordering the full pack you can end up without the sunroof.
