Default Volvo 740 Turbo Intercooler Body Kit Anyone remember?

Hi Chaps!

Great forum btw. My first post on here!

Anyway - Many moons ago my dad used to have a 1987 Volvo 740 Turbo Manual. It was white with dechromed pack. What I also remember it used to have a factory or special order body kit! The thing is I have never seen one like it? body kit....

Any ideas pics?

I have seen 1 for sale with this on... i'll see if i can dig out the pictures... i thought it looked rare so saved the pictures. Doubt you could get hold of this one anymore. I know Volvo do a new one which looks pretty smart.

Here you go, this is from Volvo's Sport & Styling Brochure dated 1990 (Swedish Edition).

Need translation, let me know (I am one of them!).

According to brochure, this bodykit was available on all models. Model shown is a 1990 740 but looked more or less the same on previous versions. I have personally seen this many time and is quite easy to find on used car sites in Sweden.

It could have been the original Volvo Add on Kit that looks like this, I had this fitted to my 87 Turbo Estate

Or being as it was white 740 Turbo that your folks had, i'm pondering wether it came from brookhouse Volvo as they did some aftermarket bodykits and fitted them to the 740's when they were new.

This is a Magma Bodykit that i aqquired and was fitted to a few 740's in this country, but this is the only example in known exsistance.

I've now sold this kit onto someone else who is fitting it to there prroject car.

Hope some of them have jogged your memory lane. I'll try and find the brookhouse advert from autocar many moons ago.

Yes, typical square Volvo design at the front, but somehow the back does not look original. It had straight edges.
