There's plenty of options so you tackle it how you feel is best.
Personally, I would start with the free "make a diesel rig in the engine bay test" and see if it starts. I'm not a fan of parts replacement without testing but sometimes needs must.

Right got the salvage yard found a d5 v70 2002 with rear end right off
Got the fuel pressure sensor and fuel metering valve of a running car Still no start fuel pressure stil at 400 then. When cranking its goes to about 1600 then straight back down the 400 within a second Fitted on there a new filter a man one full of fuel before putting it back on Did the engine bay diesel tank rig test..used a big coffee jar about 1 and half letters of fuel its sucked all the fuel up turnibg it over by the starter motor .... I got to take my hat off to these starter motors I bet it's done 300 mile just of the starter motor lol .... Didn't even try and start no air in . Can it be only these 3 things bad injector will have to get them tested as I have done my own leak test on them they seem good to the naked eye no obvious sings on exssevie leak off Fuel pressure realises valve other end to the fuel pressure sensor on the rail leaking pressure back to tank Or the pump witch I think my self seen as I am only gettin les than 10 percent of fuel pressure witch is needed to start 20000 kps my high test value of pressure is 2000 Kps Also an old guy said a cam sensor going bad can tell ecu to stop fuel is this correct ? The only fault code I get now is Fuel delivery error lol Cheer the for the replies mate, keeps me from goin insane Last edited by Jack5cylinder; Dec 7th, 2015 at 20:17. |

would a proper volvo reader tell me where the fault lies
Also I took the main feed to the fuel rail Off just that end ,shoud I be able to near enuff stop the fuel coming out whilst my pal is cranking her over The fuel pressure regulator was off a NEWER engine so I can't rule that one out also the connector is in different postion so going to have to get a brand new one Or I could just buy a brand new pump from eurocar parts with a new sensor already init for just under 200 pound I know it's a lot but sensors are like 60 to 80 Last edited by Jack5cylinder; Dec 7th, 2015 at 20:27. |

You could buy a HP pump from a breakers for about £50. They hardly ever go wrong so aren't in huge demand.

Sorry I ment regulator and yeh I think that's next just goin to pul the pipe off the pressure release valve to see if I'm losseing pressure there returning it back to tank .
WhAt do u think about ecu and wires should I test them with volt meter Cheers |

There are many things that are possible but for now, I would stick to the things that are likely.
Leave the ECU alone.

Yep don't wana break any thing els lol
It's just I was reading another post about a guy who getting simler fluctuation with his fuel rail pressure on live data loads of pages down he uncliped the ecu and reseated it and it's cracked up but yeh I'm with you likey causes of low pressure.. Fist to come to mind is pump no matter the the car Good cars thought I have had two s60 d5 one a SE the other s.fully leather heated seats both had done more than 200k and didn't have to put a spanner to them drove like a new car Terrible full lock tho lol Hope I can get this one alive agine hehe Last edited by Jack5cylinder; Dec 8th, 2015 at 00:17. |
