Default EPB stuck on!

Been enjoying the new motor for 4 weeks now, new battery to sort the low battery and get the start stop working again, new belts all fitted by volvo, great car, fab.

Just pulled up across the drive and the EPB is stuck on - OK I'm really lucky it's happened at home - near a laptop - it could have been a lot worse

Or could it,

The handbrake on my Trusty P1 has never failed - hmmmmm here we go!

Will run it up on VIDA in a few mins

Fingers crossed it's not as bad as I first feared

I have

PBM-C200677
PBM-C200695

Both on the left - will strip down that side tomorrow and see what I can find

Anyone know whether I can unwind the caliper in Vida - had a look under information and EPB can't see anything but I assume there must be some way?

Yes looks as if there is, found service mode, the right hand caliper is working well can released and applied, the left hand caliper hasn't a clue where it is but does wind for more than 25seconds I suspect and presumably on only, status on the service screen is Applied and released RHS is released. Fun for the morning I think

I'm guessing the motor shaft has somehow become disconnected? For info, a PP3 battery will happily operate the motor if that makes it easier to diagnose the problem up close or with the assembly disconnected (that's how I released the rear calipers to replace the pads without VIDA).

Managed to remove one of the T30 bolts holding the Motor to the caliper, the mounting hole/flange disintegrated at the same time couldn't get the second T30 out but a small amount leverage made the second flange fall apart, so I suspect the motor had become detached from the caliper, age being the culprit

New motor/s? tomorrow
