Mine was replaced yesterday as I've said and it looks like exactly the same design as the one before. I don't think it will hold up... I did opt-in polestar yesterday as well and the difference with powerpulse + polestar is just truly amazing. So when warranty goes out I will be very sad to pay for this tube. Not fan of paying for manufacture design flaws :O. Is there an after market solution?

I would use some oil cooler hose attached to the original end pieces ...

I did ask, when car was in the garage today, if they would put all the removed PP bits and pieces into the boot, but was told no can do as it's a warranty claim.

Shame really; seems like it could be an easy repair. That said, what's the betting that restoring PP functionality in the ECM can only be done through VADIS (or whatever it's called these days) and not by a regular scan tool... Cynical? Moi?

Default Power Pulse Pipe......again

My 2019 XC90 has just alarmed with what appears to be an orange/yellow alarm on the dash. It currently is on it’s 4th Power Pulse Pipe. Each time it has been replaced it costs me a full day off work plus the travelling. Each time the pipe has been replaced the dealership has told me that the replacement pipe will solve any future issues involving the Power Pulse. It doesn’t. Each time the pipe has failed it has been accompanied by the same orange/yellow alarm on the dash. When I described this alarm to the dealership they couldn’t tell me what it was indicating. The car has covered 17,000 miles from new and the first power pulse failure occurred after 2000 miles. This sorry experience is a disgrace and Volvo are clearly struggling to find a solution. So, here goes for pipe number 5!

Challenge them on not fit for purpose. Put in a claim to Volvo UK for compensation for the days off work and travelliing. The more owners pressure Volvo the better. My daughter's partener was told he would have to pay for replacement once his car was out of warranty. Needless to say the threat of 'not fit for purpose' did change minds.

This seems to be a reoccurring problem for some but not all owners. Changing the hose should have ruled out a defective hose issue, which has me wondering whether some cars have greater power pulse pressure than others.
Perhaps ask the garage to check what the pressure is, comparing this against design.

This is not the approach an owner should expect from Volvo U.K. when they purchase an expensive new car. Whilst the dealer is the just the 3rd party putting right a known obvious manufacturer’s problem, in your case I would make your views known to the dealer principal - Chris Carr - in the hope that enough owners making the same complaints that Volvo will get their act together and find a better engineering solution rather than replacing with the “same” part expecting a “different” outcome......

Have you guys ever considered that Volvo may just be working on a better solution, but don't have it ready for production yet?
Everything takes time...

Seems that Volvo are taking the same laid back approach to addressing the intake manifold safety recall. Wonder what they are concentrating on?
