It *should* be exactly the same for all 940s. Sadly the same isn't true of 740s...

Default Nivomats are-

They are rear shock absorbers with an air pump capability, so that you can level the rear of the vehicle off when you have a heavy load on board or are towing a caravan.
Basically you can adjust the ride height on them, nice but expensive.

Not quite!
The shocks are self levelling. They "pump" themselves up through motion of the car while on the move (up down movement as when you hit those rare things in the uk like speed bumps or ruts etc!!).

I think PAW1212 is thinking of the Monroe air-shock kits for the 2/3/7/900 series. Nivomats essentially do the same thing, but they're hydraulic (IIRC), self-contained...and automatic.

The down-side is that they need 'motion' to pump up, so if you've *just* made it into a steep car park with the car pumped up...come back in the morning, and you need to jump on the tow-bar for a couple of minutes
