Default Need to replace active xenon headlamp assembly

Hi all. First post here

Collected a facelift 2007 D5 at the weekend.

I'm gutted to find out a few things after taken delivery of the car. One of them is that the left xenon headlamp assembly had broken tabs - and it is attached to the car using zip ties through a crack made on the assembly! Obviously it's not fitted properly and rattles quite a bit!

It's a private sale, although had the local main dealership to inspect the car before the sale. This obviously was not noted.

My question is:

Can I get a US model headlamp assembly and install it on my car? Are there separate part numbers for RHD and LHD markets? The reason is that these parts are cheaper in the states, and quite readily available 2nd hand there too.

Regards

As long as the part number is the same, it's the same part. Adjustments for left/right hand drive settings are done by software.

Thanks for your reply.

Can I also know, was active xenon headlamps standard when xenons were ordered on facelift XC90s?

I have them, so was wondering if the ones I get second hand will all have this feature? Will it throw an error code if I got one that hasn't active xenons?

Hi,i'm sure that its only the xenon headlights that are active (self adjusting).

Hello again,i've just come across this thread,

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=180870

You could ask him if the headlights he has for sale are active.

Active headlamps were an option to 2007 and newer only. You will probably get a warning message if you fit a non-active xenon. Also, it would look quite weird.
