well, finally got the brakes stripped down today, could anyone tell me if I could fit P2 brakes instead of my P1 ones.
I have attached a pic of the caliper carrier with measurements to see if anyone in the know is looking!! Thanks.

also do you think I could get away with this headlight/indicator combo or do you think I need to get P2 headlights fitted??
I love the indicators so standard P1 indicators are out of the question!!

id be more inclined to swap the headlights to P2 ones on grounds of "i like to see infront of the car at more than 29mph" reasons than style ones.
the island wasnt too blessed with street lights outside of the villages last time i was there, and the thought of tootling over the mountain on p1 headlights,,,,,err id rather do it on a gsxr1100r (pre w/c engines,, you know the ones that would turn round and bite you in a nano second) in the mist, with a throttle stuck at 3/4 wide open

I'm afraid if you love the indicators you're going to have the change the headlights. I don't think the mixed look works at all.
(I've never understood it myself. I much prefer the look of the P1 lights and I no more want to be able to see inside (random other) people's headlights than I want to see inside their clothes. I know I am in a minority of one on this, however. I am still offering space in my rescue home for unwanted P1 headlights and indicators.)

Progress Report!!!
I am pleased to inform you, the brakes from a Phase 2 1.9D DO FIT on a phase 1!!
There was a bit of a debate that the brakes woudn't fit on my car as it is an early '97 and is fitted with a smaller brake set up but as long as the carriers are changed, they fit without problem. Pics to follow.

Didn't manage to get around to fitting them until today but they look spot on. Discs have no lip at all and the unipart pads are new!! You can even read the part numbers on them. Thanks again gatos for excellent parts at excellent prices!!! You really do keep volvos affordable to fix!! Also have had a starter motor arrive which i hope to fit tomorrow than it's just a headlight to aquire then the car is back on the road. Not finished but the other bits i can do as and when.

Oh, ok. No problem. When I checked on Saturday they still showed that they were in transit. I am glad you are happy and hope you get your car up and running very soon. I will be receiving my headlights very soon adn I will let you know.
Both discs and pads were fitted a week before on that car when the guy had his MOT and his car then went bang!!!. So they were practically new.

inchley313, those new indicators would look really cool with "stealth" bulbs fitted, I've got them fitted in my V40 and they look the dogs danglies.
