Default Anyone got a V/S90 T4?

Thinking ahead and when my lease is up next year I'll get another V90 but thinking of switching from a D4 to a T4.

Any T4 owners around?

Wondering if I'd miss the grunt of a diesel, sure the MPG will drop but has anyone driven the two that could share their thoughts on how the two compare?

Lack of replies thus far says it all.

For what it’s worth I spent 600 miles in a 320i auto the other week. From an engine and drivetrain point of view was horrible.

I won’t be buying a petrol in a hurry.

I used to drive a '12 320d, it was quick and amazingly economical but the engine noise was truly awful. It really is a horrible sounding engine. The D4 is much better but I think I've had enough of diesel. T8 might be nice but I don't have a spare £750 a month to lease one.

I have a new V60 T5. Very smooth and quiet. Pretty quick as well when you want. Not sure about a T4 in a V90 though. Less HP and torque in a heavier vehicle.

Bought a new V90 T4 just over a week ago - this is my first Volvo and I particularly wanted a petrol variant given the current negativity towards diesel. Drove 250 miles home from the dealer and subsequently 50 miles each day on the mostly M4 commute. Have to say I'm more than happy with the performance and I'm achieving around 35mpg.

Sadly 35 to the gallon makes a petrol nearly twice as expensive to run than my D4. Spending £100 every week and a half as opposed to £55 on fuel is not an option.

You achieve 70mpg? That's impressive. On the run home I managed just over 40mpg in the T4 but that was a long drive.

There's currently a 11pence premium in the price per litre of diesel over unleaded in Cardiff so another cost to consider.

Overwhelminly for me I didn't want to sink my cash into a diesel because of the negative associations. Also true that diesel residuals are falling whilst petrol are improving.

On a good day recently - 65 mpgs. Height of summer I’ve seen 70 mpgs. That’s driving like Miss Daisy on a very economy friendly commute but impressive all the same.

V90 T5 is now available - from specs it’s got the same mpg as the T4 but with 0-6 in 6.7s it’s significantly more powerful...https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review...2018-uk-review

Petrol is the lowest cost element of ownership, depreciation is far bigger and servicing and repairs will run it close once out of warranty. I have a petrol car because the refinement and theatre from the engine just moves the car to another level. But I only do 12k miles a year and the extra £10 or so a week is not enough to bother me in the scheme of about £700 a month total cost of ownership....

I'm lucky if I break 30mpg, but it is a 350hp V6 4x4 so not really chosen for its fuel economy credentials...
