Default Which sim or incar phone?

Hi there,

For use of the incar phone on my 2005 xc70 which sim does it require? The tray which the sim card sits in and slides into the phone looks the older larger style sim but I can't source one of these.

Instead I have adapter to allow for my nano sim to fit within the sim tray. But so far the display just reads "Please wait".

Could this be because I am using a nano sim and there is much less contact points compare to the older larger style sim?

Any help would would be great.

Thanks

The older cars use 1G/2G phones only (900/1800 GSM) so you must use a SIM from a phone provider that operates in the 900/1800 band

The SIM must be a Mini-SIM (2FF)
See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIM_card

Micro SIMs (3FF) were only introduced in 2003, and the built-in phone in a 2005 car was designed before 2003

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed to know. I will try and hunt down an older style Mini-SIM (2FF) sim on the correct band.
