Default Urgent Help & Advice With Running on 2ltr T S40

I'm in need of some help and advice regarding my S40,

When driving the car its very hesitent (SP) when picking up speed, another way of putting it is it rudders when trying to speed up, its even worse when low on fuel, but there is fuel in it as the lights isnt on.

I have replaced the fuel filter, I done this by just uncliping the original one and fitting the new one.
I didn't take the fuel relay/fuse out first like some people say.

Has anyone got any idea what the problem could be? or how to fix it?

The car has done 117k approx.

Also when it starts running poorly there's also air come out of the fuel system via the valves.

Cheers mate,

The idle control valve was cleaned a couple of months ago.

It just seems to me like its sucking in air into the fuel system from somewhere, its just trying to find the place if there is one.

I had the same symptoms on my old T4.....used to cut out aswell after going round a corner, then felt like it was misfiring.A popped the bonnet and used to press the release valve on the end of the fuel rail to release trapped air...car would then start again no probs! Think the fuel pump also has to work harder when the tank is low aswell!........Anyway a changed my fuel pump and all was okay 99% sure this is your problem!

Cheers mate

Bit more info from me here now, when the car is parked up you can rev it fine, it doesn't hesitate, struggle or anything,

But its when on the more is when it starts hesitating and struggling.

Start with the cheapest part, new VOLVO spark plugs.
