Default XC90 roof bar advice

Hi there,

I have a 2016 XC90 T8 and want to put a roof box on for an upcoming trip.

I've got the box and the roof rails (Exodus square bars from Halfords) but I need to replace the foot pack as that was for my old 2009 XC90.

Can anyone advise what I need to get so I can attach the roof bars to the car. I've searched online and just ended more confused!

Thanks!

The Halford page provides the info - https://www.halfords.com/motoring/ro...-2-658694.html

They sell the fitting kits too. Thule feet by the looks of it but ask Halfords to confirm to be sure.

Thanks - if I've done that right, I'll need

Thule Evo Flush Rail Foot Pack 7106 - Pack of 4 (267086)
Thule Flush Rail Fitting Kit 6028 - Pack of 4 (267678)

at £156.90. Pricey!

The key question is:

Momentum or inscription/r-design?

Buy cheap, buy twice.

I am still using the same Yakima Whispbar that I bought over twelve years and four cars ago. When I changed from my Subaru to the V90 the cost to change the foot pack was £33.50. I'm a sea kayaker and the bars stay on permanently and they still look good, with two six metre long surfskis on the roof I want to be sure its secure and it is. Yakima and Thule are of comparable quality.

And forget Halfrauds, go to the experts and give them a call - they really know their stuff.

Thanks both

It's an Inscription.

Quality is not as critical for me as we would only use a roofbox once or twice per year, and I take off the bars otherwise, but will check out that website.

OK. Can't help then I am afraid. Mine is a momentum so has different bars.

I have Thule stuff and can't fault it.

They were great. Very quick to respond to my email and I've gone for the Cruz bar and fixings.

Thanks!

I am in a similar situation in that I was going to use the Thule area/wing roof bars I had on my Gen1 XC90 and they are too short and don't fit the 2018 XC90 I have bought. I am looking at getting a Thule XT XXL roof box...anyone know the right length to fit my car please? also I am unsure if the roof rails would be described as flush?

I contacted Thule directly and they were really helpful. I had an XC60 and wanted to know what I could swap over to my XC90.
