Default Walker exhaust system?

Has anyone ever heard of this exhaust system?

Apparently, the used car I just bought has this all the way down starting from the downpipe when I had a look.

I wouldn't care for it otherwise because I was going to replace the exhaust system anyways on my car but after learning it already has an aftermarket one I'm not so sure anymore.

It's very quiet and doesn't sound like an aftermarket exhaust at all. I do have a p0420 code on the dash tho so could the catalytic converter just be so gunked up that it's having an impact on the whole thing.

I've just fitted a BM cat and Klarius rear section to my V70, nothing wrong with most aftermarket exhausts, usually much cheaper than OEM
If it's quiet enough and not leaking I don't see any problem.
That code is generic for cat not working efficiently, could also be the oxygen sensor...
Try running a bottle of Catalcean through...

I took out the section where the catalytic converter was on and taped the ends shut and filled it with water and soap, maybe I did throw in some lacquer thinner to mix it up as well.

I'm gonna let it sit overnight and check for any leaks and put it back in tomorrow. Hopefully that's enough to clear the code. I did check the o2 sensor voltages with an obd scanner and they both seemed like they were working as intended so I'm certain its the cat that's clogged up.

Don't think putting soap & water or thinners will do much good for a cat, maybe time to renew it...

Walker is an aftermarket and I think OE exhaust manufacturer, like Bosal, Klarius, Gerlach and many others.

They used to have awful stickers on them!

Works fine, a bucket of hot water with half a dozen dishwasher tablets dissolved in it, leave the cat to soak overnight giving it a shake every so often, rinse in the opposite direction of flow then compressed-air dry the next morning, refit and laugh when the MoT tester says "Why can i smell lemons?"

Wouldn't use paint thinners though, no need! It's only carbon after all which will dissolve when soaked in detergent aka lemon dishwasher tablets...............
