I went with a Sony unit, I do have an amp but only for the subs in the boot, all the rest is driven off the head unit

see here

BUT the issue for you might be the connections that currently go to your amp under the seat need to now go directly from the head unit to the speakers. that wasnt a problem for me but I dont know how your wiring works exactly.. if you plug in the standard leads does that just bypass the amp? or do you need some sort of convertor, and do some cutting and soldering under the seat to bypass the amp yourself

others will have to advise on that I'm afraid

someone linked this a little while back

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384010452924

so you can use that from pre-outs into the round connector plug thing, which should work if your amp is working ok

I'm guessing you still lose the centre speaker but if mine is anything to go by (even without the amp under the seat) the 4 door speakers produce more than enough sound, I don't really get the need for surround sound speakers anyway seeing as music is only in stereo

thanks for your comments again. I think I'll just leave it for now and put it on the list of things to sort on the car.

Have you checked that the carpet around the amp is bone dry?
