Default R-reg V90 for sale

The sad time has come when we must part with Violet, our trusty transport and friend for some years. 170,000-odd miles, Burgundy and Biege Leather.

Plus points:

* LPG converted - does about 250 miles per refill of the wheel-well tank, and means we enjoy V90 luxury for the equivalent cost of a 40 mpg petrol car;
* MOT until May;
* No current issues, apart from an exhaust blow which is being sorted out by us;
* Complete top-end rebuild two years ago after an alternator pulley fault caused the cam-belt to jam. Phil Hims of Shipham Volvo did the job, beautifully; (That man is a complete gent and a pleasure to know!)
* Rust-free, as far as I know;
* Two extra USB charging points;
* GROM aux-in unit;
* Tow-bar - not Volvo, and never used;
* I have accumulated various parts, all used, in case - listed later.

Minus points:

* Salvage and rebuild car, so scruffy and well-used - bought when we were doing a house up;
* The bumper skins are abraded and largely paint-free - but refinishing would make the car look a great deal smarter;
* Drivers door card doesn't match - is subtly different colour;
* Drivers seat memory adjustment is erratic;
* There are possibly other creaks and groans which I no longer notice;

In short, a good user car but far from concours condition. We are selling because any stray faults are beyond our ability to pay for diagnosis and my aged spine can no longer sustain DIY.

Second hand spares:

* Four alloy wheels and tyres;
* Two part-worn tyres;
* Radiator;
* Pair front wishbones;
* Front seat base mechanism, frame only;
* Power steering pipes;
* Transmission mode switch for centre console;
* SC-805 radio head unit;
* There may be few other odds and ends which I've forgotten for now.

I've been offered £1,000 trade-in value so hope offers would exceed this. In their absence I shall put everything on eBay as a job lot.

Everything can be viewed or driven - we are in Wells, Somerset (not Norfolk!).

Please PM me for more details or photos.

Thank you for reading such a long post!

It sounds not remotely nice, let alone a long way from concours: if someone's offered you a bag I'd take it.

Please find some phone photos, shot this morning en route to the garage to get a new back box fitted, and shot in the rain against all the rules.

They reminded me that we have a block heater for those cold mornings - it helps get the LPG vaporising sooner, too.

Hope this works - photobucket is new to me: http://s44.photobucket.com/user/morr...y/?view=recent

Thanks for looking,

Ben

Smile Sorry about that!

Always the way, isn't it?

Sure I can't tempt you to come and have a look? It drives very well...

Thing is if I came over I'd have to drive it home worrying about an MOT in two months time, leaving you with a years trouble free motoring in a small german estate car, and not much else except for a plastic Rat bonnet mascot that I've not got round to fitting yet.

Marcelle

Edit:
I'm good with a paintbrush, so the colour and scuffs doesn't bother me.

Default Mot

I don't know of any think likely to cause an MOT Fail -- but then, one seldom does.

And I fear we don't need a small German device, so seems we can't help.

Just a little drive, perhaps.....??

Especially given that at auction recently I saw a near mint one* (one owner, sub 100k) go for less than £2k.

Jon.
