Space saver
Hi All,
Total newbie here just popped in to say hi and ask for some advice, the wife has traded her 2010 c30 r design in for a 2016 xc60 r design, i was wondering if anyone new what options will fit regarding a space saver for the xc 60. I herd some Fords are compatible which seem to be cheaper on the auction sites ? Cheers, Brian. |

spacesaver spare wheel
Hi Brian
Great choice. I too am a newbie to Volvo after many years in various BMW's and have invested in a 2017 XC60 R design Lux Nav with a D4 engine and manual box. I'm still finding my way around it (only took delivery 10 days ago) and knew that it only had a compressor and a bottle of "slime" as a spare. I do some long journeys abroad and would rather have a spare wheel as a comfort factor. After research i bought a genuine Volvo kit - wheel 17", jack and associated moulded insulation/carrier. The cost was £202 plus £9.99 delivery from ebay. Very quick delivery and of course fits perfectly. I was told that all XC60s have a 17" spare although 18" alloys are fitted. Hope this helps Ron |

Not familiar with the details of the XC60, but, are you talking about a space saver spare or a proper full size steel wheel?
It's been discussed on here before that the spacesaver doesn't really match the standard roadwheels on many makes and models, often having a smaller overall diameter, but then it isn't meant to be used like a normal wheel, it's just to get you to the nearest tyre shop at limited speed to get the proper one repaired. If it's a proper 17" steel wheel you could check and compare the overall size of the wheel and tyre and the 18" wheel and tyre, which you can do with a tyre size comparison calculator on a number of tyre sales websites.
