Are they using the correct volvo specification oil ? RBS0-2AE 0W-20.
They should be using exactly 5 litres , Hopefully they know how to calibrate the oil level gauge which is part of the volvo service .

Engine flush is a money making con , totally un-necessary , that's why you pay for the top quality oil , to keep the internals clean .

Exactly what grease and fluids are they charging you £8 for ?

The free total software upgrade is very attractive at the dealer service , These new cars are having software improved on a monthly basis .

Just a few points to ponder .
I know, they are a bit vague. I'm pretty much decided that, given the software/map updates included with the main dealer service, I'll probably go with them. I was trying to save a bit of money tbh, but the difference isn't enough to make it an attractive proposition.

Thanks for your input

The dealer will not do the maps , you are supposed to do them yourself ...they are a free download they cant have a dead car sitting there in a space for nearly an hour whilst the 55 gb of maps go in ..

When I click on my model (S80), there's nothing older than a 2010 on the list (mine is a 2007). Even when I try 2010 onwards & then press fuel type (diesel), it says "can't find any engines for the selected fuel type and model year."

Oh yeah, that's right. I did them myself a few weeks ago. It took about a week with only doing short journeys that week

The other benefit of the Volvo service is the free 12 months Volvo Assistance.

Don’t forget the 10% discount at Volvo dealers if you are a member of the Volvo Owners Club.

and don't forget to spend £599 next time you buy a new Volvo and get FIVE YEAR's free servicing - I am selling my V90 that has just had its 4 year free service so the five year free service TRANSFERS to the new owner - too good to be true! anyone want to buy it?
