Grom faulty?
Evening all...
I have a Grom related issue that I was hoping someone might be able to help with. I purchased a BT-3 second hand from ebay, when it's connected its live and I can connect my phone to it via Bluetooth however the head unit won't switch into CD changer mode, if I plug the male plug into the back of the unit from the grom it disables CD player and will only play FM/AM radio, the same happens if I plug my oem male plug into the grom female adapter too. Its only when I disconnect the grom and plug the oem male connection back in to the unit that I get the CD player function back. Is the grom faulty or am I missing something else? I've watched the YouTube videos and looked at the instructions that came with it and can't see I'm connecting it wrong Cheers |

It emulates the optional 10 CD changer and the CD in the head unit is still available so not sure what you are doing.
What head unit do you have and what model of Grom. |

It won't bring up the CD changer option when I flick through the source menu.
Just recently got the car and it came with a HU-833 (jap import) but I've got a HU-803 from ebay and get the same thing with both units. It's as if the grom isn't powering to the unit for it to read as as a CD changer despite it being live It's a BT-3 grom unit |

turned out it was me at fault 🤦🏻*♂️
I'd pushed the male plug in the same as the standard oem that was already in was, noticed when I was looking at the pins on the harness one had got slightly bent so straightened it up and tried it in the female adaptor on the harness, it didn't fit then I realised it needed to 180° and not the same rotation as the oem plug. As soon as I did that it registered as a CD changer |
