£700 for a new car or £500 + a load of hassle bringing an old knacker back on the road?

No contest in my book I'm afraid.

On has 7000 miles on it for £1400! What are you waiting for?

It depends on how good the current car really is, and how handy the owner is with a set of spanners / whether any favours can be called in. If the engine swap can't be done on a DIY basis, I think it probably is game over. If DIY-ing it is possible, it makes good sense to do so. I swapped a B14 in a (very gentle) weekend mostly by myself...it's about as simple as swaps get.

cheers

James

Morning everyone,

Thank you for all your replies..............

Lots for me to consider now.

The car's body is in excellent shape with no rust in the sills, underside etc etc.

I will check this all out later.

Have a great day.

Paula
