Default Model designation on rear

Hi everyone.

First post here, my xc60 is due to arrive in a couple of weeks, I've found lots of useful info on this forum and wanted to pick the collective brain.

Does an xc60 with a drive logo on the back always indicate the 2.4 175bhp engine? And the newer 2.0 have a D3 logo?

Reason i ask is because I saw a black xc60 '60 plate last week with the drive logo on the back and it seemed quite quick. Keeping up with my Audi a4 pulling away from traffic lights and up to motorway speeds. I assumed from the acceleration it would be the 2.4 but the interior looked like the new podless style which would mean D3?

Any comments welcome.

Thanks Ransman, so would that mean that a car with D3 on the back would be a 2.0 auto? As only the manual has the drive logo?

Sounds very likely. That's what I have on the back of mine.

What are you getting?

It depends: the D3 stands for 163 Hp , so it exist in:
  • DRIVe manual gearbox (2.0 163 Hp)
    D3 Geartronic (2.0 163 Hp)
    D3 AWD (2.4 163 HP)

And the D5 would be a 2.4 205 Hp (in Belgium) AWD

easy hé

The last D3 option is not available in the UK. Only D5 is AWD.

Ah good to know, I think it has something to do with the Belgian Tax on a new car: 1250 Euro for max 163 Hp and 2500 Euro if above 163 Hp

Getting an SE Premium D3 manual in Barents Blue. So will probably have drive on the back.

Only a couple of weeks more to wait.

I'm sure I read the R-Design, irrespective of engine does not carry the Drive badge for some reason, that said I'm sure I've seen a picture of one without the badge on this forum but cant think where. Confused.com
