Rear doors and a bonnet
Hi all, i was wondering if anyone knows or has the above parts, in the process of restoring my old CVT and the back doors are starting to go.
Also mainly the car has chrome around the windows but the new front door is black, can i get hold of the chrome or paint or something? many thanks Ben |

Hi Ben
I'm afraid I can't help you with the above parts myself, but Lakes Autos on the A1 northbound at Wyboston has several scrap 300s which have rear doors in varying conditions. http://www.lakes4volvo.co.uk/ It's not that far from where you are. It's an old school scrapyard, and the owners generally let you go and scavenge what you need yourself. I think that you can replace the black window surround with a chrome one if you can find a donor door, although I've never taken it apart myself and it looks like a fiddly job. Finally, I'd suggest you sign up to http://www.volvo300mania.com/uk/forum/index.php - it's a forum dedicated to 300s, and you're likely to get a quicker response there. Good luck! Sion

There is a chance I will have some good doors but will need to check what I have.
I have a feeling that the trims are chrome under the black coating but that could be 240's I am thinking of |

The chrome trim is much more common I think. There are also 2 or 3 types.
1. metal actual chrome, wide 2. plastic, wide 3. plastic narrow The plastic is the more common but fades badly. The metal chrome is the best and lasts well, or can be refurbished, but only seems to be on early cars. I know my 1980 345 had it. |
