Replacement glass for door mirror 1987 car
Hello I have a UK RHD 240 GL estate.1987
The drivers door mirror glass has deteriorated but not broken, so there is almost no clear reflection. All the items on door mirror sights or ebay seem to be 1988 or 1990 onward. It has manual adjustment. It has the blue tint and dotted line for the angle both of which I would like to retain if possible. Question is: Does anybody know how or where to get a reasonable cost replacement. Or do the 1988 items fit my car. Thanks Conor |

If it looks the same, itll fit. All the big mirrors are the same in structure, its just whether they are manual, electric or electric and heated.

Be aware that late 940 glasses are mounted differently: the 200-series, 700 and early 900-series cars have a small cut-out in the underside of the housing to let you use a screwdriver to unlock/lock the glass. The late 900-series use a set of one-way lugs to mount the glass - allegedly you CAN remove and reinstall the glass on these but I've tried and failed.
If you can see the back of the replacement there's a plastic locking ring on the early type, which is the type you need.
