Starting a little upgrade thread here as It's currently in sales.

After collecting car from Luke a couple of weeks back I'm starting some minor cosmetic upgrades.

Firstly I got rid of the horrible plastic wheel covers and steel wheels for a nice set of period Dracos that I had refurbed

Mechanically it's nearly there as Luke kindly did all the belts ( inc timing ) all the front oils seals, plugs, oil and all filters.

It's had a cheapo looking alternator fitted ( which I think is faulty )so I'm going to replace that with a Bosch unit.

I'll also do a coolant flush and bung in a new 92c stat. It runs really well but is veeeeery slooooooow which is excaerbated by the terrible slush box

Default Wheel Covers.

That looks very nice Mark.
What have you done with the wheel covers?

Beautiful. I love the lines on the 740 wagon. It's my favorite Volvo. Gray or blue are especially beautiful. I'm definitely envy especially because I'll probably never have one. Prices are ridiculous both in Spain and Portugal. People asking 5k+ for them.

What makes you think the alternator is cheap and/or faulty Mark?

It looks cheap and shiny Dave, so is deffo a replacement . The lights stay on until you rev it and it cuts out on the odd occasion

I've yet to test with my meter so will know better then. Battery is brand new

Thanks Mark,
I presume that they are 15”.
They may be better than mine.
I’ll be happy to pay the postage.
I’ll PM my details later.
