That's a big shame that it doesn't display google maps navigation in the driver display. I wonder why they didn't/couldn't integrate that as it's a really nice feature.

So I guess it's a choice of having a more awkward to use + traffic/road closure unaware sat nav that's 'free' and displays in the driver's display or paying ~£300 and needing to look down at the main screen.

Maybe I'll try living with the included sat nav for now and see how I get on with it and lookout for a special offer.

Thank you all again.
Having paid Carplay previously. IMO its not worth the money, purely on the basis of the half screen display. With an active sim card / or connection via your phone data and the RTTI (Real Time Traffic Information) settings on. Sensus sat nav is relatively useful and often informs of 'traffic /road closures, providing alternative route options. And Yes Sensus is a little clunky especially when trying to input destinations in the car, however using the Volvo car app and sending destinations to the car via the app are generally seamless.

Thanks MCV60

Nice tip about using the Volvo app for adding locations. I'll try that.

To be clear.....and for future reference for others, if you have Sensus and swipe the home screen to the right (i.e. go to the page to the left of the home screen), you will be able to see all the available inputs for your car.

If Android Auto or Carplay are enabled for use (i.e. the feature is licensed) there will be an icon there.

If the icon is there and the phone is not connecting, it's most likely a cable issue. Cheap USB cables are very common causes of this issue..... particular if they are marketed as 'charging cables' which means they may not have all data pins wired up.

There are two versions to choose from. Apple Car Play or Smartphone Integration, depends wether you are solely a Apple user or you use both. Both options are the same price. If you are in no hurry just hang fire, special offers come round regularly, last time I think it was £180.

I had the same issue and had it installed for £300. What I can advise is that both AA and Carplay were installed so I assume that it's an upgrade that does the two of them at once.

What I don't like and if I had known earlier is that you only get the AA. Carplay on a tab like you're seeing at the moment on the display screen and you can't put it full screen like you can with the maps feature.

To be honest, if I had known this earlier, I wouldn't have spent the cash on it as all I use it for mainly is Bluetooth to the car for music on the phone as there is a Spotify app already on the car for me using and maps but I could easily use the Volvo built in one though.

Hope that helps,
