Help and advice for returning lease car
Hi All,
The V90 goes back next month and was wondering what people have done about returning lease cars and some minor curbing damage to the alloy wheels. Managed to curb the wheel getting into a tight car park which was very frustrating!! I’ve attached the photos, I’ve been ringing around getting quotes but chips away won’t touch them as they are diamond cut alloys....any thoughts on coats if they are just left and repaired by Volvo/lease company? Any other options? I have a few weeks before the car goes back to should be time to sort it but I don’t know which is the best path forward now... Any thoughts welcome!

With the hassle and expense of diamond cut its probably cheaper letting them charge you.

That's pretty inconspicuous damage to be fair - return the car dirty and they may not even spot it!

I can recommend Storm Alloys of Stoke ( not too far from Derbys!!) to refurbish diamond alloys. When I returned my E Class I had them refurb one kerbed wheel and the finished job was excellent. They only charged me £80 as well. Suffice to say it passed Mercedes scrutiny with flying colours.
Give their web site a look and see what you think - I would guess that it would be by far the cheapest option when returning the car ( Mercedes were quoting £550 PER WHEEL GULP!!!!!) Cheers |

I bought a S60 a few years ago with Ixions and I noticed one wheel had some damage, looked worse than that in your piccies, but in a very similar place. Dealer got their mobile guy in and did a brilliant job. Spoke to him when I went to collect my car and told me that if I had paid for the repair it would of been £70

In recent years I have colleagues who have returned leased cars (not just Volvo’s) with such issues as your wheel and they have heard nothing at all or at worst been invoiced £30. ALL have been very pleased with the treatment so I would leave it and keep your head down. Will be a faff getting it repaired yourself.

I thought they had to take cars with with a certain amount of wear and tear for milage and age, they cannot expect a 3 yr old car with x miles on the clock to be as new when you picked it up.

FWIW, the BVRLA guide permits scuffs on wheel rims of up to 50mm.

For what it's worth I returned my car to Zenith 6 months ago with a fair bit of curbage and the odd parking lot dent and never heard a thing about it.
