£22 for a wash? I'm glad I don't live within the M25 if that's the going rate down there.

Mine was washed in October so not due until springtime, the windows and cameras get cleaned more often in winter.

Tyre pressures, tread depth, screenwash, coolant and bodywork assessments are included.

Although, if screen wash top-up aint included, then im glad Tesco's works fine, as long as its not 0C or below

Unless it’s been professionally ceramic coated over a PPF layer (and even then the car still needs basic washing and rinsing often in winter) then you clearly don’t give a **** about your cars if you don’t wash between Oct and Spring!!!

I wouldn’t let anyone else wash my car - that’s my pleasure. It’s the single most effective thing you can do to look after them.

True, as long as it goes and gets me from A to B. Oh there are a few times I have given it an extra wash, when going to funerals and weddings.
Its not been coated or even polished since new in 2016, still looks perfect when it does get washed, and it never goes through a car wash. Modern cars are much better protected than they used to be.
The Sun is the thing that does more damage to paint or the laquer coat and bird muck which I always clean off when I see any.

I'm with nu11eaf on this. Windows, lights, and cameras are cleaned pretty much before every journey at the moment, and the radar areas for BLIS get a quick wipe with a wet cloth every few weeks.

Everything else is left to harden as part of the exclusive paintwork protection system that I use, where the layer of grime is chiselled away at the end of the lease to reveal the original pristine paintwork underneath.

I kept my last V70 for 10 years & used the "wash it when it needs it" regime, it looked as good as new when I sold it. Well, it would've done if I'd washed it.

I'm in Northampton and we are blessed with several Hand Wash operators situated round about the town. They are mostly owned and staffed by our 'friends' from Eastern Europe and are well-staffed too.

For £8-£10 my dirty XC90 gets the following treatment:

Hand Spray to all wheels and front lights with wetting agent to loosen dirt, bugs, etc.
Jet wash all of the exterior.
Foam all of the exterior.
Hand wash all of the exterior.
Open all doors and sponge wash door surrounds and back of doors.
Apply water miscible wax by spray (using a small container) to all of exterior
Jet wash spray rinse to all of the exterior.
Leather off all exterior to include door openings and back of doors.
Hand finish to all exterior windows and door mirrors using window cleaning spray and micro fibre cloths.

For an extra £10 (ie. £18-£20 total)
All of the above and then
Whole of the interior of the vehicle is vacc'ed.
Also, the rubber floor mats are taken out and cleaned and dried.
Rear of car emptied for an interior clean and vaccuum.
All windows hand cleaned inside with window cleaning spray and micro fibre cloths.
Dashboard cleaned.
Door cards cleaned.
Complimentary smelly card hung from indicator lever.

When the interior of the car is being cleaned I/we generally go inside the waiting room for a read of the papers/magazines.
If the guys are just doing the exterior of the car, then we sit inside the car with the engine running and the heater and radio on.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! (But it still failed to persuade me to vote "Remain" )

I like to keep my car looking absolutely immaculate all the time and so it gets either an exterior or full exterior and interior clean usually once a week.

I have always thought, that these business must be absolutely brilliant for laundering money, merely by adding any illegal funds to the takings. Being owned by 'foreign operators' then of course, no one can challenge how they structure their businesses and where they actually do bank their takings.

But, when dealing with them, i ignore all that stuff and just get a good professional job done for the cleaning of my relatively, up-scale vehicle.

Mine was washed in August. It is not due again until next August or 18000 miles whichever is sooner. . There is even a reminder on the dash when it needs a wash again!
