My one bugbear is people selling their so called cherished and much loved vehicle that has a full service history, wanted for nothing...blah blah blah. On closer inspection it will have the cheapest ditch finder tyres you can buy Not only a false economy but also downright dangerous
Strangely Mark i tend to agree with most of what you're saying but my viewpoint (at the moment at least) is that if it does the job and keeps the car mobile, i'd rather spend less on a fuel pump to give me more to spend on other things.

For example, it's no good having a fantastic fuel pump if the brakes don't work!

The other day i picked up a set of rear pads and two rear flexi hoses for mine for £18 delivered from RA, all "Wholesaler Closeout" items. Those are items that might have otherwise had to wait although in fairness, they will still be waiting until spring when it's warmer.

As for tyres, the cheapest Chinese Ditch-Finders should come with a Govt Health Warning! There are many out there but that said, there are many budget Chinese tyres that are actually pretty good these days. Knowing the difference is the important bit.

However, there are many so-called "Premium" brands that i wouldn't give driveway-space to on any of my vehicles, all due to bad experiences with them. These days i tend to go for "middle of the road" tyres (no pun intended!) as they tend to perform better than expected yet are still cheap enough to be competitive.
