Not quite; the B230K has the Heron head with guaranteed bent valves when the timing belt goes and a different emissions set-up to any other red-block.

.... and my final comment on (b)hp whether it be Suffolk Punch/Clydesdale or just your regular stallion.
Having now re-arrange all my insurances etc on the 745 and V70, I am looking forward to 1st December when I can unleash the power of the B5234T3 (240hp @ 5100 rpm) on the '98 V70 CD T5 Auto after spending a few months off the road getting it 'up to speed'. Probably a good job I will have full breakdown cover!! Bob Last edited by bob12; Nov 21st, 2020 at 19:03. |

Indeed, it has both EGR and Pulsair (secondary air injection) to reduce emissions in the absence of a catalytic converter |

I believe the B230FK was made for the caravaners where they didn't want high power output but the extra torque the 3.5psi produced would help with the towing capabilities. Probably something to do with tax in other countries where it is based on hp I assume too.
Nothing a manual boost controller can't fix |

Joking aside, i suspect the latter part about tax etc in other countries (Italy springs to mind) where engine size and i believe power are taken into consideration is probably more like it. Shame Volvo never made a 2.5 red block for the automotive market really...........

I sussed the LH2.4 being fitted in the end by the diagnostic socket on the n/s/f inner wing. |
