Body/Trim: - S40 & V40 replacement door compatibility

Hey guys n gals!

I was recently in an accident and my Vovlo S40 (2004) front passenger door was damaged beyond repair. I called around the local auto breakers and found a Volvo V40 (2003). The guy on the phone said they are the same door but the garage who are going to fit it were unsure so I wanted to get a 2nd opinion before buying.

Any advice would be greatley appreciated.

I take it that you have the 1996-2004 S40 and not the newer 2004-2012. If you have the first one, then any front door from an S40/V40 from 2001 to 2004 will fit. Only one thing to keep in mind is that the donor car has rear electric windows as the wiring on the front drivers door is slightly different. But then again, you can use your own wiring. Being a 2003 donor car, chances are that 99% it has rear electric windows and the wiring is the same as yours
