Default 745 - 945 External Door Trim Question

Hello,
Please find photo attached of my 745 door trim. I am wondering if the trim on a 1996 Volvo 940 estate is the same and would fit mine. I am hoping to get to give mine a little TLC.

I hope someone can help.
Thank you in anticipation and take care,
Mike

It certainly looks the same as the trim on the breaker.

Should do.

What is not the same is the upper trim incorporating the door window wiper. Firstly, the colour changed from 'stainless' to black. Secondly, the length changed due to the revised design of the door mirror faceplate with the trim ending inside the mirror faceplate rather than passing underneath it.

I think it's just the "rubbing strip" along the waist line that Mikes after Bob - is that still the same?

As I said 'should do'. Can't see any reason why not. Assume the moulding is the same shape. The rest was a 'bonus' comment!

Bob

PS ..... now looking again at the pic above the moulding looks a different shape to a 740. I would need to go out and check but, would guess the method of attachment is the same.

That's what i thought Bob.

A larger picture might make life easier and also reveals a wood screq holding the rear trim on!

Now all we need are photos of the 940 trim to see if it is fittable but the worrying bit is the door will likely have an extra hole (and potentially rust) where there shouldn't be!

Looking at the door skin (or gusset as Volvo appear to call it in the USA), the same skins were fitted from 740 to V90 :

https://www.volvopartswebstore.com/p...3/1334767.html

Click "What this fits" for the full list!

As such, the lower rubbing strips will fit regardless of exact model/year as long as it's the same body (saloons appear different to estates, why i don't know) but obviously to do the job properly, either the exact replacement for damaged trims will need to be found or replace all of them so all must be good replacements.

I don't know why I doubted myself .... as far as I can tell they are identical.

They're both 1990 745s so no surprise there really. It's hwether the 945 trims will look radically different............

Hi Luke,
Great feedback from Bob12 below, I have attached another close up pic of the profile. I also measured them.
Small front 225mm
Font Door 1020mm
Back Door 770mm
All are 47mm high.
Can you double check please?
All the best,
Mike
