Default Timing Belt Kit

As title, I'm going to buy a Timing Belt Kit, along with a Service Kit, should I stick to volvo genuine for the timing belt kit? and where is the best place (price wise) to purchase one?

I would check with Rufe on here (FRF Volvo in Swansea) and compare to something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-VO...7#ht_503wt_891

Dont think there will be much difference to be honest and the other makes are only about £20 cheaper, if that.

I use Ebay often for parts but find its 50/50 as half the time they list parts for my car in the title but when i contact them and ask "does it fit", they reply "no".....learnt a few lessons from ordering parts which then don't fit.

There is an aftermarket one on ebay for around £50 but could be a load of crap?

I would not be cheap on the timing belt...Buy a good belt no no-name product. If it fails the motor is done, deffinetely not worth the 10€ saved. Also change the pulleys and the damper. Water pump is also a good idea as it is not very costy but a tragedy when it fails.

Yeah fair point, I wouldn't have ordered any old no name product, was more hoping that someone would recommend an aftermarket part which is actually good quality but failing that will go with volvo genuine.

For aftermarket I now usually use quinton hazell for quality/price, but their timing kit was virtually same price as volvo genuine. so I think I've answered my own question and will stick with the proper kit!

Is this a kit you purchased and just never used? honestly not sure what is classed as a reasonable offer, as only just started looking at the kits and hopefully be getting all the work done by late may.

is there a fair price you had in mind?
