Default Volvo 240 engines

Hi, Happy New Year!

I have a H reg Volvo 240 Torslander estate. I am new to Volvos and very pleased with it. Anyone know of a good place to pick up recond engines for this vehicle as it is very high mileage. Or is it just better to go for engine strip and rebuild - rumour has it you can make these engines run forever? No major problems at moment (can be a bit funny cutting out when restarting when engine is warm and the lamda engine management system light comes on) but just out of interest/planning ahead.

Many thanks

How many miles has it done? Does it have a decent service history?

With regular oil changes and good maintainance they can be good for 500,000 miles+

Suppose if you really wanted a new engine you would just have to find a low mileage s/h one from a crashed car or one going for scrap....

Why not post more details of your problems in the 200 series general section (by the way youve posted in the wrong section) - im sure with the amount of knowledge on here you'll have the faults fixed in no time...
