Could you open your hatch when the bike rack was fitted with the bikes on ?

I have got both the Pendle 4 bike carrier and i have a maxx raxx 5 bike carrier. Never had any problems and i have had these fitted to various cars, 2 x V70's, V40, S40, Vauxhall Zafira, VW Golf, Vauxhall Omega, 2 x VW Caravelle's and a Mitsubishi Delica.
They are good and strong and do not scratch your car.

I feel that the maxxraxx is better all round as it secures your bikes with the internal ratchet straps but like all of these racks it takes a bit of practise to fit the bikes on in a certain order so they fit well together. I still use both racks as i have them on separate cars but i do prefer the maxx.
