V40 1999 | Ignition problems, won't start (sometimes).
Hello everyone, I'm new here so my apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place...
I have a 1999 V40 that seems to only start when it feels like it. Typically it starts fine when cold, but if you drive it somewhere and stop for ten mins or so, it doesn't start again (sometimes). It doesn't 'turn over' at all, just silence. The key turns all the way, but the ignition doesn't seem to engage. If you leave it for an hour or so, it will start up again no problems. The battery is fine. This problem is not consistent, sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't, which makes taking it to the garage difficult, everytime I go it starts up so I just look like a crazy person telling someone that my car won't start whilst sitting in a car that is running. It's very temperamental and rather annoying tbh. If anyone has any recommendations or experience with this, your input would be hugely appreciated! Thanks in advance for any help! Stu |
